    8x8 Sr. Director, HR Business Partner


    As 8x8 continues to grow all across the business, the HR team is looking for a Senior Director, HRBP​ to partner and collaborate on projects, initiatives and talent strategy with the business units. This is a key role, shaping and influencing business strategy as it applies to the growth strategy, the people agenda, engagement of our talent, retention and development of key staff as well as leading major change management projects. The HRBP is expected to be a leader in the company, adding both people and operational value.  




    The ideal candidate will contribute at both hands-on and strategic levels to cultivate an amazing and innovative culture in the global Technology, IT and Finance organizations as we continue to grow. This person will be tasked with creating an overall people strategy for the global Technology, IT and Finance organizations which will be aligned with the overall corporate goals and vision. This person will be responsible for aligning business objectives with the leadership teams on large scale people initiatives. This person will assess and anticipate people related needs while coordinating efforts across the organization. This person will act as both an employee champion and change agent. This person will maintain a superior level of knowledge regarding the short and long term strategic plans in order to appropriately leverage talent.



    • Provide global, strategic guidance on people related and organizational issues which may include employee relations, talent management, succession planning, performance management and strategic HR initiatives
    • Identify and deploy impactful people strategies and policies that enable the organization to perform effectively and scale efficiently as it grows
    • Drive key performance management programs, develop critical competencies and leadership capabilities and review talent planning with senior executives in order to facilitate the attractionvand retention of key talent
    • Provide individual and organizational consulting to senior management and other employees as appropriate
    • Build and sustain relationships with HR Business Partners and other cross-functional teams across Recruiting, Compensation, HR Operations and the business teams they support on communications, projects, best practices and areas for improvement with the goal of maximizing the Tech, IT and Finance organizations’ ability to achieve and exceed goals
    • Be a key driver in the workforce plan which includes managing leadership expectations, staffing models, cost containment, talent development, negotiating appropriate offer packages internally and engaging internal candidates in career discussions
    • Implement and administer HR policies and practices that are aligned with the business objectives and in compliance with all federal, state and other regulated agencies laws


    • 12-15 years business experience with the past 5 focused on resolving strategic employee related issues combined with strategic business decision making and direct executive level support
    • Proven ability to understand strategic organizational issues and influence change
    • Experience operating in a matrix and fast-moving organization
    • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment and ability to cultivate relationships globally
    • Knowledge and experience with multiple human resource disciplines, including leadership development, compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity/inclusion, talent management and succession planning
    • Broad knowledge of business practices with experience both in and out of HR
    • Bachelor"s degree and relevant industry experience – MBA a plus
    • Smart, flexible, adaptable

     Essential Functions:

    • Direct support of the Global Technology, IT and Finance business units and respective Executives
    • Supports with guidance to the primary group leadership
    • Works closely with Tech, IT and Finance Leadership to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase the functions productivity and retention
    • Works with Finance for budgeting and workforce planning to ensure workforce capacity is delivered
    • Works closely with Recruiting for all hiring needs and compensation budgets
    • Works closely with Tech, IT and Finance leadership on employee performance specifically balanced account executive scorecards to measure productivity
    • Provides guidance and input on large scale business unit reorganizations, workforce planning, and senior-level succession planning
    • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR generalists to develop solutions and programs to enhance organizational development
    • Partners with the legal department as needed/required
    • Provides broad HR policy guidance and interpretation
