    8x8, is looking for a Quality Engineer experienced with testing web applications meant for consumers  and business users. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in all aspects of QA for 8x8 Back Office applications.  The primary purpose of this role is to test data migration tools that are being developed to move our customer base to new platforms.  The primary application you be testing is Salesforce.com.  The position requires close collaboration with development and the business.   

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Create and maintain test plans and test cases for 8x8 Back Office applications / systems
    • Perform extensive functionality, integration, regression, interoperability and end-to-end system testing independently or with the team
    • Work closely with development and business teams to ensure that the highest quality software is deployed
    • Troubleshoot, analyze, and isolate defects and report them to a bug tracking database (JIRA)
    • Communicate technical concepts/issues clearly to colleagues and review documents for technical content and accuracy

     

    Required Qualifications:

    • Experience in black box testing, web app testing, regression testing, test plan generation, documentation, problem solving/analysis, troubleshooting complex issues, and bug/defect tracking and reporting
    • BS or MS in CS / EE / CE / SE or equivalent related work experience
    • Candidate should be: a team player, self-motivated, eager to learn, result oriented, able to work independently when needed, have a strong attention to detail and be able to think “outside the box”
    • Must have experience with documenting test plans, test cases, bug reports, and status reports
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Be the customer’s advocate in matters of quality and the user experience

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Understanding / Testing experience in XML / REST APIs
    • Knowledge of Web and CRM environments
